Can I order a man's shoe as a woman or vice versa?

Yes, that is possible without any problems. Especially with our numerous unisex models, the women's and men's versions do not differ visually. The men's models are only cut a little wider.

I am not sure if the shoe fits properly. How do I find out the right size?

In general, minimal shoes are cut wider than conventional models. So when you try on your first pair of barefoot shoes, they may seem very wide - which is exactly how it should be! Your feet now have plenty of room to move naturally and are no longer constricted. As a rule of thumb, if you have enough space in the toe area (about a thumb's width) and don't slip in or out of the shoe when walking, then it fits perfectly.

I am not sure which size to order. What can I do?

You can usually order the same size as your other shoes. If a shoe runs smaller or larger, you will find a note on the item.

Can I wear minimal shoes in winter?

Even in cold temperatures, you don't have to miss out on the unique barefoot feeling. Our winter shoes are warmly lined and an additional thermal insole ensures that you feel the ground but not the cold. Another plus point is that the thin sole activates more muscles than in conventional shoes, which improves blood circulation to your feet - i.e. they are automatically warmer.

Can I wear minimal shoes with socks?

Wearing barefoot shoes does not mean that you have to do without your socks in the future. Whether with or without socks, the ultra-thin, patented sole and the flexible and lightweight material ensure an absolute barefoot feeling.

Are the shoes also suitable for hallux valgus and does it improve?

If it is an acquired hallux valgus, i.e. not genetically determined, improvements with barefoot shoes are definitely possible. The deformity of the big toe often comes from many years of wearing shoes that are too tight or too narrow and occurs mainly in women. Since barefoot shoes have an anatomical toe width and leave the foot enough space to move the toes freely, they promote foot health. To be on the safe side, we recommend consulting your orthopaedist.

I have flatfeet, skew feet etc., can I wear the shoes?

Basically, the question is quite simple to answer: Do you feel pain when you walk barefoot? If not, then barefoot shoes are suitable for everyone. Barefoot shoes replicate the sensation of walking barefoot and thus promote healthy feet. If you have flatfeet, barefoot shoes help to build up the arch of the foot because the muscles are strengthened. Wearing barefoot shoes can also have a positive effect on bent or flat feet, where the longitudinal arch of the foot is lowered and the heel tilts outwards. In most cases of foot deformities, the most important thing is to strengthen and rebuild the foot from the inside out. Barefoot shoes are very good for this purpose, as they have zero arch, a thin sole and the anatomical toe width. To be on the safe side, we recommend consulting your orthopaedist.
